I went last night to the Bulgari Hotel in Milan with my children, Jack and Isabel, for dinner with Geddy Lee and Charlene and Alex Lifeson, and their friend Andy (whose surname I didn't catch). The band Rush is in Milan, doing a concert as they are near the end of a successful tour in Europe. Read more
Aldo's Big Bottle Orchestra

I went up to Piedmont over the weekend and stopped in to see Aldo Conterno, one of the great Barolo masters. His wines have such refinement and delicacy, yet they have structure and richness to age for decades. Just got back from lunch with Roberto Guldener of Terrabianca, the well-known wine estate in Chianti Classico. You probably know some of his wines, such as the Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese blend, Campaccio, or the Cab and Merlot, Ceppate.

Deep Blue in Downtown LA

I went last night to a very cool restaurant in downtown Los Angeles. Blue Velvet has a hip Miami meets Tokyo vibe, with its sleek modern design, outdoor seating and swimming pool. Ingredients are everything when it comes to food, especially in restaurants. This may sound strange coming from someone born and raised in Los Angeles, where it’s more about the social scene and image of a restaurant than anything else.
